Mounting Systems

Ceiling Fixed Systems

The following considerations are highlighted:

  • ⇨ Potential Materials: Timber, concrete/ribbed deck.
  • ⇨Access to Timbers: Check accessibility either from above or below. If floorboarded, inspect the joists thoroughly.
  • ⇨ Structural Integrity: Examine for woodworm and/or rot.
  • ⇨ Obstacle Identification: Identify any obstacles on the ceiling, noting their type and location.

Wall Fixed Systems

Take into account the following considerations:

  • ⇨ Materials: Plasterboard, masonry, timber, stone, breeze block (except for stud walls that cannot support brackets).
  • ⇨ Specific Material Guidelines:
    • – Masonry: Locate brickwork and avoid Thermalite if dot and dabbed over. Identify single skin brickwork.
    • – Timber: Use 36mm of ply in addition to the front face.
    • – Stone: Ensure fixings are on a flat surface.
    • – Breeze Block: Find brickwork, avoiding Thermalite if dot and dabbed over. Always identify single skin brickwork.
  • ⇨ Fixing Process: Use a device to identify timber joists. Always utilize three fixings. The wall span determines beam requirements. Chemical resin is utilized for fixing into concrete and masonry.
  • ⇨ Obstacle Identification: Identify any obstacles on the wall, specifying their type and location.

Floor Posts Systems

The following factors need consideration:

  • ⇨ Materials: Timber, concrete.
  • ⇨ Environmental Review: Assess the installation environment, considering factors such as underfloor heating, radiators, control boxes, heating valves, water pipes, sloping floors, and built-in furniture.
